Friday 09/21 Self-Defense is For All - Things to consider doing/learning | Krav Maga in New Jersey
European Federation of Krav Maga USA
New Jersey

Hello, and thank you for opening the news!

Here are a couple of things that have inspired me this week to pursue better training and knowledge and I hope they can be of service to you.

1) Can you get an MIT education for $2,000? | Scott Young | TEDxEastsidePrep link here
Gets down to a very detailed approach on how to use time effectively.
For Krav Maga and Self-Defense, learning can mean that we focus on using the curriculum in short breaks from work.

2)7 Charts that Show Why We Need to Fix Youth Sports – from the Aspen Institute – SEPTEMBER 5, 2017  By Jon Solomon – Link here
I know it does not affect us grow-ups right now, but we all know children are the future and we can be building up a non-movement society and that brings substantial challenges in health and mental wellbeing.
The charts that we can work on are Active to a Healthy Level since Krav Maga sessions are within the definition of Active to Healthy.

Note here from the study:
(From 2011-15, the percentage of kids 6-12 who were considered active to a healthy level (151+ high-calorie burning sports activities during the year) slowly decreased. The decline was much steeper in 2016, dropping by nearly two percentage points.

And also the impact of making a change:

3) Actions
a) Many times we use class time just for us, so think on bringing one of your kids or nephews or friends of friends to class, and do Krav Maga with them. It is rewarding and soon we can have them for one of their own classes.
b) so that we keep the mornings bright here is a 7 to 10 minutes Krav Maga Self-Defense for All baseline workout – I’m positive it will light up your day. – Follow along 7 minutes plus shadow boxing

Enjoy the weekend and Keep Training.
